Check how the hands and feet work
Inspect the sleeve arrangement and whether hand access can open without taking the whole garment off. For the feet, check whether booties detach, tuck away or remain enclosed. Follow the maker's instructions for walking; do not assume enclosed insulated feet are suitable footwear outside.
Try bending, sitting and standing in the correct size. Check the crotch and shoulder space as well as height. A size that looks acceptable while standing may pull when you sit or restrict movement in a sleeping position.
Camp use and overnight use are different
For sitting outdoors, check access to pockets and how the hood works with your view. For sleeping, inspect the stated temperature information and think about the sleeping pad underneath. A wearable outline does not establish the same rating as a conventional bag or suitability for an emergency overnight stay.
