For travel abroad, choose a water plan around the destination, available supplies and expected drinking-water risks. The decision begins before buying a device: find out whether reliable treated water is available and what you will do when it is not.
Map the daily water needs
Think about drinking, brushing teeth and preparing food, not only filling a bottle for a hike. On a short city trip, access to reliable supplies may matter more than a large outdoor filter. On a remote journey, power, replacement parts and the volume treated each day become central questions.

Choose coverage, then format

Keep the plan usable
