For a hair dryer, check its voltage setting and permitted input before choosing an adapter. High power makes this a different compatibility question from phone charging; a generic travel adapter or low-power converter is not automatically suitable.
Read the dryer label
Ceptics' hair-dryer travel guidance distinguishes dual-voltage equipment from single-voltage equipment and recommends comparing a dual-voltage travel dryer rather than assuming a converter handles every appliance. Use the actual dryer instructions, including any required voltage switch setting.
Adapter versus converter
If the dryer accepts the destination supply and its instructions permit use there, check a plug adapter's fit and load rating. If it does not accept that voltage, a plug adapter alone is insufficient. A converter must explicitly support the appliance type and power; a large wattage on another port or unit does not prove suitability.
Check the complete rating
Read adapter current/voltage ratings and the dryer's load. Do not apply an arbitrary “at least 2000W” rule to every country, adapter or dryer. USB charging wattage does not describe an AC appliance rating. Follow the instructions of every component.
Alternatives
A suitable dual-voltage dryer or equipment supplied at the destination may reduce the need for conversion. Compare the exact equipment and instructions rather than selecting EPICKA, BESTEK or Ceptics solely by brand. A brand can sell several different adapters and converters.
Buying decision
Choose the actual dryer and destination-compatible connection as a system. Do not rely on unrelated positive phone-charging reviews or broad “works worldwide” claims. Check instructions and condition before use, and consider a simpler compatible setup when the ratings or appliance permissions are unclear.
